The Minong Flowage is more than a lake — it is the foundation of the local economy and the reason so many of us are here. Eurasian watermilfoil (EWM) is spreading across its 253 acres, threatening water quality, native species, property values, and the recreational experience that keeps people coming back.
The MFA's Save the Flowage Campaign is raising $200,000 to fund a multi-year response: ProcellaCOR herbicide treatments, mechanical harvesting, and the tools needed to manage EWM for the long term. The Wisconsin DNR has approved our permit. Just $30,000 more unlocks our first treatment this summer — 40 acres across five zones.
