ABOUT THE MFA

Preservation for the Common Good

The Minong Flowage Association was founded in 1989 by property owners who believed the Flowage was worth protecting — for its fish, its wild rice, its shoreline, and the communities that depend on it. Incorporated as a non-profit organization in 2003, the MFA is a membership-based nonprofit governed by a seven-member volunteer board, working in partnership with the Wisconsin DNR, tribal stakeholders, and the broader Flowage community to keep this lake healthy for generations to come.

OUR MISSION

To promote a high-quality social and ecological environment for property owners, residents, and users within the environs by identifying and facilitating the resolution of issues and undertaking initiatives for the common good.

Annual membership dues support an aggressive lake management plan, provide educational awareness of invasive species, and create opportunities for young and old alike to have fun and make memories that last a lifetime.

OUR VISION

A fiscally sound, neighbor-led non-profit whose members work together for the common good — so that clean water, a healthy fishery, and the traditions of life on the Minong Flowage endure for generations to come.
